The "superfruits" expertise
Originally specializing in the trading of dried superfruits – fruits rich in antioxidants that are believed to have health benefits – before its acquisition by the Brousse Group in 2014, Axe Fruit has preserved this expertise at its core. A significant portion of its trade revolves around cranberries, particularly popular berries in North America. This expertise is derived from the knowledge gained through collaboration with an American cooperative, a leader in cranberry production and processing. Axe Fruit's dried specialities also include goji berries, blackcurrants, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, physalis (Cape gooseberries), chia seeds or quinoa. As well as a variety of diced dried or candied fruits. |

Our dried cranberries come from Wisconsin. Located in the Great Lakes region of the United States, this land is ideal for growing cranberries because it combines its best allies: sand, water, sun and cold. Cranberries grow in sandy, dug-out fields. A field of cranberries, which is called an eyelet, measures about 14,000 square meters. A young vine planted gives its first harvest after 3 years and produces in abundance until 25 years. After that, the yield is less, some vines in Wisconsin are over 100 years old! For more than 10 years, we have been working in close collaboration with two suppliers selected for their expertise and quality.
When the cranberry is ripe, the fields are immersed and lightly stirred to allow the berries to drop out vines and rise to the surface. Cranberry consisting of 4 small cavities filled with air, they are very light and therefore float on the surface of the immersed field. So just gather it with large buoys and then pump it up. The last step is cleaning and selecting fruits before the distribution.

Mini figs are too fragile to be handled fresh, that is why our dried mini figs are very soft and plump.
